Scottish Squash Performance Director Resigns

The Scottish Squash Performance Director Paul Frank (pic left) has resigned his position as of 1st February 2010.

Paul was in charge for over six years and was instrumental in setting up the very successful training programmes at Herriot Watt University, where many of Scotland’s top young players have the opportunity to train and develop their squash on a permanent basis within a well structured training camp. Weather Cancels Scotland ‘B’ Internationals

News just in that bad weather conditions has meant that the Scotland team can’t travel to Cardiff to play the scheduled ‘B’ International Test matches this week against Wales and England. Their plane from Edinburgh was cancelled earlier this morning due to the snowy conditions in Edinburgh.

Scottish Junior Squash Open 2009/10

 The Scottish Junior Open (Mon 28th Dec – Thurs 31st Dec) is part of the European Junior Tour and once again has attracted some of Scotland’s and the Worlds Top names from all age groups.

The Jordanian Brothers Mohammad and Ahmad Alsaraj will lead the charge in the Boys U13 and U15 as they have European rankings of No.#2 and No.#1 respectively in their age groups.

Scottish Squash University Championships 2009

 

The men’s uni champions for 2009 are Napier and Dundee lifts the women’s title in The Scottish University Championships.

European U17 Squash Silver Medal Winning Team

The Scotland’s Under 17 European Silver medal winning squash team were honoured by the First Minister, Alex Salmond at a special reception in the capital, to celebrate ‘Scottish Sporting Success’. The First Minister praised Scottish sporting success throughout the year, and afterwards took time to meet with the European silver medal winning team.

The West’s own Morgan McGuire from David Lloyd in Renfrew along with her team mates Greg Lobban, Douglas Kempsell, Ally McCorquodale and Mhairi Charlton (and coach Robin Hamill) all met Alex Salmond, who they told their story of success along with future goals, upcoming competitions and ongoing training schedules.

What a fantastic success for our U17 side and many congratulations to them all.
