Kirst Lobban Wins Scottish Junior Open Squash Title
Kirsty Lobban was titled Under 15’s Scottish Junior Open Champion 2010 and she was the only Scot to achieve the honour at this years European Tour Event. Kirsty (pictured left with her Harrow racket, receives her winner’s trophy from SSq President Ron Pearman) did it in style, only dropping one game throughout the whole tournament and winning the final 3-0 against fellow Scot Claire Gadsby.
Chris Ferguson also had a great tournament in the U19 category, only being piped 3-1 by the eventual winner Chris Schnell, from Canada, in the 3rd round (and eventually finishing 5th).

BSPA Squash at Edinburgh Sports Club
The Edinburgh leg of the BSPA tour has once again reached us and Edinburgh Sports Club will play host to some top-class squash (last year’s winners were Peter Barker World No.#6 and Vicky Botwright former World ranked No.#5).
The Artemis sponsored tournament (with a £10K prize fund) will be on from Thursday 28th to Sunday 31st of January 2010 and everyone is more than welcome to come over to watch and support the event according to event co-ordinator Simon Boughton.
Scotland’s top players will be pitting themselves against some seasoned pros from south of the border and looking to take some scalps, just as Peter O’Hara did last year with a magnificent run to the quarter-finals beating Joel Hinds (PSA No.#127) on the way. And not forgetting Harrow’s Alan Clyne who was only stopped at the semi-final stage by Irishman John Rooney (PSA No.#84).
