The only big name to go out so far is the No.2 seed Ramy Ashor as he had to retire against Aamir Atlas Khan in the 2nd round after just 6 mins. This has really opened up the bottom half of the draw and made tonight’s quarter final between James Willstrop (seeded No.6) and Daryl Selby (seeded No.9) a very interesting tie. The winner of this should go on to meet the man in form, Karim Darwish (seeded No.4), in the Semi-final.

December 9th – The P.S.A. World Open is really hotting up as we’re now getting down to the big matches in the quarter and semi-finals.

The only big name to go out so far is the No.2 seed Ramy Ashor as he had to retire against Aamir Atlas Khan in the 2nd round after just 6 mins. This has really opened up the bottom half of the draw and James Willstrop (seeded No.6) having won 3-1 last night (against Darly selby) should go on to meet the man in form, Karim Darwish (seeded No.4), in the Semi-final.

In the Top half of the draw Nick Matthew (pictured right against Hisham Ashor) – No.1 seed – is now the tournament’s red hot favourite. He should he beat Thierry Lincou (No.7 seed) in tonight’s quarter final then he’ll face the winner of Amr Shabana (No.3) v Gregory Gaultier (No.5) in the top half Semi-final on Thursday.

A prize pot of $325K makes this Tournament massivly important to the players and so we should really see the top players playing their top squash in Saudi Arabia.
