Optical Express Sponsors Racketball Around Scotland’s Masters Tournament – Feb 23 @ Whitecraigs LT&SC in Glasgow

Racketball Masters Event - Whitecraigs - 23 February

I’m delighted to announce that ‘Optical Express’ have partnered with Racketball Around Scotland to sponsor the inaugural Masters Competition on 23 February at Whitecraigs LT&SC in Newton Mearns, Glasgow.

Optical Express is the UK’s No.1 provider of laser eye surgery and they could be inundated with bookings if some of the player’s requests to the ref were to be taken seriously! But whether it’s glasses, sunglasses, contact lenses or eye tests you may need to improve your refereeing or racketball skills, Optical Express will help you out wherever you play.

If you’d like to play in the tournament then please e-mail me at j.broadberry@virgin.net or download the attached entry form.

Scottish Open Racketball Championships 2012

Well it’s been all over the press (!) so you must have heard by now that the inaugural Scottish Open Racketetball Championships were held in Dumfries at the weekend (sponsored by Pathfinder Park Homes).

The tournament was a great successs with an ‘Open’ Championship as well as five different ‘Masters’ Tournamnets. The Tournament Director, Kieth Gristwood, organised the draws, the club, the catering, the sponsors, the players the markers, the trophies and even the night out on the Saturday (not to mention playing in the final; after a 5 set semi-final!). A great effort from all at Dumfries who helped him out.

And the Results? Well I thought I’d have a go as I’d no idea if I was any good or not and it turns out I’m OK, as I won the Open Tournament! Thankfully some of the “big guns” didn’t enter, but none the less I’m delighted and very proud to be the very first winner of the Scottish Championships.
