Blair Christie Joins Harrow
I’m delighted to announce that Blair Christie is the newest member of the Harrow Squash Team and will be playing and coaching with the Harrow Vapor.
Blair is an ex-Scotland International at Under 16 & 19 and was Scottish No 1 for around 18 months at Under 19; as well as being U19 Scottish Champion (he also captained the U19 team at the Worlds in Hong Kong and the European Championships in Denmark).
All-in-all Blair received around 50 caps at all levels (including Senior B squad several times in home internationals – and this was in the days when Scotland had Peter Nicol/Colin Keith/Peter O’Hara/Barry Sutherland etc) and he’s now developing squash in Central Scotland where he has recently started coaching.
Another great name plays with Harrow!

The B.S.P.A. North of Scotland Open at Aberdeen Squash Club saw the World No.40 Chris Ryder claim the 2010 title by beating Max Lee (world Ranked #77) in a hard-fought 3-1 final.
Chris joins a very impressive hall of fame that includes Peter Nicol, Lee Beachill, Alex Gough, Azlan Iskander, and the late great John Dale.
Chris Ferguson flew the flag for Scotland by reaching the quarter finals and only narrowly losing to Arthur Gaskin (Ireland’s World ranked No.#90).
Harrow’s Kevin Moran also lost to Arthur Gaskin in the previous round (3-1) and tournament organiser Ali Gorrie lost to Irishman and the former World No.7 Derek Ryan.

PSA North American Open Squash 2010
Nick Matthew won the PSA North American Open this weekend by beating Ramy Ashour (the World No.1) in the final by two and a half games to nil!! (11-9 16-14 5-4 ret. inj)
Ramy had to retire in the 3rd game due to a niggling foot injury he’d been carrying for some time, but it was the physical pressure that Nick put him under that forced this retirement. Ramy was up 9-7 and 7-4 in the first two games and had it not been for the sheer determination of Nick Matthew he could have easily gone onto win the title. ![]()

Peter O’Hara Joins Harrow
Ex-Scottish International, Scottish over 35’s No.1, Coach, West League No.1 for Newlands Peter O’Hara has done it all in Scotland and I’m delighted to announce that he is now going to continue his squash career using Harrow rackets.
Peter was impressed by the weight and feel of the Harrow Vapor and felt it was the right time to make a change to the new racket. And I’m really looking forward to seeing the ball being fizzed all over the court by ‘Pistol Pete’ wielding his new weapon!

British Nationals 2010 – 3rd Title for Nick Matthew
Nick Matthew took his 3rd British National’s Title last night when he beat James Willstrop in last nights final.
Nick won the match 3-0 in 50 minutes and said “That will go down as one of my best performances – I didn’t make many errors and it’s not often you beat James 3/0”.
James admitted “I just felt lacking physically, no push, no spark, I couldn’t inject and so couldn’t use my racket”.
In the women’s final there was an upset as Alison Waters (seeded 2) beat Jenny Duncalf (seeded 1) in a thrilling 3-2 final; with the last game going to 12-10.
Alison said “That’s one of the best matches I’ve ever played, it was neck and neck all the way and I hope it was good for the crowd!”
